BREAK IN THE STORM

Several years ago when I had just started dating Brittany, we had the opportunity to go camping out at Big Bend with some of our friends.  As you know if you have been yourself, it is an incredible place filled with towering rock formations, treacherous terrain, and beautiful views. We also experienced sudden storms sweep through the desert bringing rain, strong wind, and lightning. I decided to create this painting as I imagined what it might have been like many years ago for a couple riders and their horses traveling through this unpredictable land.
