“Gunnison Crossing” Limited Edition Paper Print

$160.00

For my money, there are few places that beat the rugged beauty and inspiring grandeur of the Rocky Mountains.  In southern Colorado, in the San Juan Range, there is a small town called Lake City.  Interestingly, while most native Coloradans have never heard of it, we come across Texans all the time who have! The natural beauty all around is indeed inspiring, and I soaked in as much as I could on my last visit. Just outside the town is the Gunnison River, a high mountain stream winding through thick forests and deep valleys.  When I saw this bend in the river and the light playing through the trees, I knew there was potential for a painting. Adding in the elk making his way across the shallows brought everything together in a piece that really brings me back to the Gunnison.

I recently had the chance to display “Gunnison Crossing” at the Ruidoso Art Festival and was surprised and blessed when it won the 3rd place ribbon for painting! Just as exciting, Colorado Outdoors Magazine recently chose to use the painting for the inside cover spread in their annual Hunter’s Guide issue! I’m grateful for the opportunity and proud of the success the painting has seen.
